So you want to get married in the Catholic Church?

The page will provide you with as much information as possible, but please note that not all priests and Catholic churches have the same methods.  This information here is by no means the final answer.  Please check with your local parish.

Step One:  (Six months to one year before wedding - a minimum of six months is required)

Contact your parish to begin your marriage preparation process.

 

Step Two:  (As soon as possible after completing step one)

Attend Marriage Preparation Pre-Session (Bring this brochure and the enclosed registgration form with you)

  • Register for your educational program (see Step Four for options)
  • Complete the FOCCUS Inventory
  • Pay for the program selected

 

Step Three:

Complete FOCCUS Facilitation

  • Contact parish (priest) to schedule to discuss your FOCCUS results

 

Step Four: (preferrably 5 months before wedding)

Attend one of the following Educational Programs

  • Catholic Engaged Encounter

    • WFM Evenings
    • WFM 1-Day Program
  • Remarriage Program

Attend Natural Family Planning Introductory Session as directed by your priest.
